Photo gallery -- Obelix, a Belgian draft horse born on a Canadian Premarin farm. He now babysits foals for a family who breed appaloosas. Click on any photo to see a larger version.

Obelix is super friendly and has a lot of ground training. He ties, loads, comes when called, longes with or without a longe line, and gives to pressure so well you can position him just by pushing him around with a feather-light touch.

Obelix loves to race around, pick up and throw things, like, for example, his hay feeder, and engage in horse play.

Obelix is just as affectionate with horses as with people. He kisses and grooms other horses on short acquaintance (if they will let him).
